Headlight beam pattern mismatch after replacement

I drive a 2022 Genesis GV70 3.5T Sport in Denver and had the left headlight replaced last fall after a minor fender bender. The new one looks brighter but throws a weird beam pattern. There's a triple shadow effect and a horizontal line that wasn't there before. My neighbor has the same trim and his headlights look uniform and clean. I'd like to know if Genesis changed suppliers or if the shop installed a slightly different version. Has anyone compared part numbers between the original and replacement?

Another thing, do these headlights need to be calibrated after install? The dealer didn't mention anything but I'm starting to think that might be the issue.

It sounds like your replacement headlight might be from a different supplier or version, which could explain the weird beam pattern and shadows compared to your neighbor's. Its a good idea to check the part numbers to see if they match. Also, headlights on the Genesis GV70 often need calibration after installation to align the beam correctly, so if the dealer didnt do that, it could be causing the issue you're seeing.

I'll check the part number stamped on the housing and compare it to the original on the right side. If there's a mismatch, I'll contact the repair shop to ask if they used a different supplier or a newer revision. I'll also call the dealer to ask if they performed calibration after install, since I have no paperwork for that. If they skipped that step, I'll book it in the next couple weeks and report back on any changes.
