Wrong info on my Genesis app

I got a 2023 Genesis GV70 and it's the first time I'm having troubles with my Genesis app. It shows I'm at a different location, it's not synced with my calendar, and the climate control isn't so responsive. I've gone as far as deleting the app, reinstalling it, restarting my phone but nothing seems to work. Has anyone ran into the same problem? How did you get it fixed?

This could mean a few things, it could be a temporary glitch or poor cell signal, maybe.

Have you tried turning the car off? sometimes turning the car completely off, letting it sit for 5-10 minutes and then restarting can reset the car's system.

I'm really sorry you're going through this! App glitches can be such a headache. One thing you could try is resetting the head unit, just hold down the Map and Setup buttons for about 10 seconds. If you're using an iPhone, some folks have found that turning off Face ID for PIN verification in the app settings helps with sync issues. And if all else fails, disconnecting the 12V battery for a few minutes might just do the trick to reset the system

By the way, has this location issue just popped up, or has it been happening since you got the car? I'm curious to know

That's frustrating. I had something a little similar happen a few months back. What I did was log out of the app, then disconnect and re-pair the vehicle in the settings. That finally synced everything back up. Give that a go if you haven't yet.

I had a bit of a hiccup with a rental GV70 last year. The app was acting up, refusing to sync the climate settings or even show my location properly. Super frustrating! But during a gas stop, I decided to go for a head unit reset, and guess what? It fixed everything. Sometimes it just takes a little reset to get things back on track. Might be worth a try

Also, check if the GV70 itself has a strong cellular signal visible on the infotainment screen. The app relies on the car's connection to Genesis servers. If the car isn't consistently connected, that could explain the location and climate control unresponsiveness

For me, the location and climate control glitches cleared up after the dealer pushed a software update to the head unit. The app itself isn't always the culprit, it's probably the car needing an update to sync properly
